Tara Bansal, T’17

tbansalTara Bansal is a New York native and Angier B. Duke Scholar in the Class of 2017 deeply engaged in human development and education research. A Public Policy, Global Health, and Economics student, her Bass Connections work has centered around understanding the causes of varying levels of social density across slums in Bangalore, India. She spent her previous summers collecting research data in India, creating distribution strategies for pediatric immunizations in Indonesia with the World Health Organization, and studying abroad at Oxford University. On campus, Tara acts as the President of the Duke Student Government, serves as former Vice President of Duke’s internationally competitive Debate Society, has coxswained for the Men’s Rowing Team, and trains as a classical dancer.
